The Art & Science of Innovation
In the 21st century, the ability to innovate will be a critical skill for everyone.
In 20 years, many, if not most of the jobs and organizations we know today will be gone or profoundly changed. To address social and community issues, to create new jobs, products, and services, to build a resilient career and successful life, our children will need to be comfortable with innovation. Core skills include identifying problems, generating ideas, developing and testing solutions.Innovation is a science, with lots of research and thinking behind it; and an art, that can be engaging and fun but benefits from practice. In this class, we’ll be practicing using the latest tools of innovation, including design thinking, systems thinking, ethnography, and entrepreneurship.
